ADOPTION DAY!

There is much to share and pictures to see which I will post soon. But TODAY needs to be marked! TODAY my baby boy's name has been officially changed to GARRISON! Today, we stood before a judge that said, "Courtney and Brian Garrison will forever and always be the parents of Matthew Josiah Garrison. Congratulations to his forever family!"

Praise be to God! "FOR YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A SPIRIT THAT MAKES YOU A SLAVE AGAIN TO FEAR BUT YOU RECEIVED THE SPIRIT OF SONSHIP." AND BY HIM WE CRY 'ABBA FATHER'" So thankful we are called sons and daughters of an amazing God.

We are overjoyed. We are breathing more deeply. We are exhausted. It is done...on earth at it has been done in Heaven.

Thanks for your prayers, love and friendship.

Courtney .... after your call Friday, I couldn't even begin to fathom what your heart was doing. I called Cindy and told her too that you'd be going in to the court room at 1:30 in anticipation of coming out with a new and beautiful OFFICIAL Garrison on your hands. As I told her, I began to weep and realized how much is in our name. You know, our children are born and we put their name on a birth certificate and think nothing of it. It is through adoption ... Matthews and and my beautiful Maliah's that we get the concrete example of the meaning in a name. Matthew became a Garrison ... OFFICIALLY ... on Friday and proudly wears that name now. I wonder if we as sons and daughters realize the day we receive him into our heart that we too got a new name ... sons and daughters and coheirs of Christ! Our name is now his name and just as celebrated in tears that day of what the Lord had done, the same is true for each of us as we are adopted into his Kingdom! The angels must rejoice in the heavens!
Courtney and Brian, I bet you haven't slept as good as you did on Friday night in oh ... 20 months! I pray you had sweet dreams as you realized the long dream of finalizing in the courts what had been finalized in your hearts and in the heavens long ago!
CONGRATS! Matthew ... you are chosen! The Lord knew you in your birth Mommy's womb ... every ounce of you when he formed you. He also knew the days before you, including January 9th, 2009 - the day you would be knitted forever into a family! Praise be to him!
